Story
Dear Mr. President,
I had thought about all that I want to say to you, and in my mind it had come out to such simple words. I was surprised at myself, for I was never one to be so blunt before, until I myself was forced to learn that 'sugar-coating' was for children and not adults.
Adults are ones who should not be shielded from the truth. They need to know what is happening in our world, and frankly I think you have done a good job in that. You have also done a good job with your wondrous speeches, that even made me, a person known for her incredibly cold demeanor, bow my head and let tears fall from my eyes.
Maybe because, I have seen how the world was when I was small, it was so large and so full of wonderful new things coming to life. Computers were just starting to become much more widely used, cell phones were breaking out and everyone had one. And not once, had I ever seen a person in my neighborhood sleep in the park because they didn't have a home. Now, sure everything is still advancing but at what cost? I have seen three people asleep in the park not too far from my home, and it pains me because in my small neighborhood, that never was seen. Now our world has fallen into such chaos that many have given up all they ever wanted.
You brought hopes, dreams, and moved people's hearts and brought them alive all in one night. That very famed night you were elected President. Therefore, as bluntly as I can put this without all the sugar-coating to make you feel better, if you care about our nation, or even care about the people as if they were your own two beautiful daughters...
Remember that if you somehow crush our hopes, our dreams, and shatter our once again beating hearts...you do the same to the wonderful girls who look up to you as not only their President, but as their father also.
Can you hold up to being the father of our nation, Mr. President?

president obama has inspired the hopes and dreams of many hasn't he? and he has moved us. your question is a good one. it's not a easy task he has at hand. he'll need all the help he can get. he certainly has all the opposition i would imagine he wants (or doesn't want more specifically). i'm glad you're taking notice of this president. he speaks with our voices. yours is the next generation that will shape this country's future. i'm glad you're putting your two cents out there. :o) -
