Just an invitation I recieved I wanted to share:
All,
Please take the time to navigate to www.worldcommunitygrid.org. This idea was put into action by IBM. The idea behind it is to utilize the unused proccessing power of PC's around the world to create a super computer network. This network is being used by scientist for the benefit of humanity. All you need to do is become a member and download the software; the rest is taken care of. My PC is currently working on the project Nutritious Rice for the World to impact the malnourished around the world. Have a look and pass this on to your friends, family, and co-workers. To give you an idea of the power of public computational power look at Scrips. They have been working on anti-HIV drugs based on moleculer structure and the research would have taken 5 years to complete without the World Community Grid - with the Grid it took 6 months!!!
