Story

A growing trend these days are the bucket lists that many seem to do once they realize that for what ever the reason they have only a few more days/months/ years on earth. Like the person wants to make sure they get in the last little bit done before going to heaven. Leaving no regrets here on earth. Living outside their comfort zone because let's face it, they have nothing to lose.

After watching the movie "The Bucket List" I had this need to make one of my own. Before anyone could tell me my time is limited on earth. I decided I wanted to do things outside my comfort zone without the fear of running out of time. To be able to reflect once I was old and gray.

I don't have any outstanding things I want to try. I will never jump out of a plane or off a bridge with a rope tied around my waist. I won't be trying to shoot off to the moon. Nor will I be making any kind of rare discoveries.

My list has things like going to Ireland and viewing the beauty of it all. Trying to maybe take a couple of cooking class or even a dance class or two (Maybe the moon trip wouldn't be so bad after all LMFAO!). Simple but boring things that at least for me are not only beyond my comfort zone but also challenging with a hint of fun hidden in there. Anything that goes beyond my normal life.

The whole idea is to live like one is dying without being dead. To surpass that inner limit we put on ourselves. To be able to show one's self that it wasn't really all that scary and in truth maybe even improve one's life just by a second or two. I have been lucky. I have been on a t.v. commercial and a music video as a child. I have received a writing award from one of the governors when I was a teenager. As a young adult I met a handful of stars from that era. So trying new things and taking chances isn't new to me.

I think that as an adult we lose some of our edge. We get a little nervous as to when we were kids we would jump on in. Willing and able to take on any thing and anyone in life. I just have to capture that person yet again as an adult. As the song says we all need to "Life like we are dying" and just enjoy the idea of taking that chance in life.
